Creative Challenges:

One of our biggest concerns – apart from making the story fun – is audience safeguarding. The phrase “Oh, it's just a game” has always annoyed me. Especially, since it's usually the winner saying it to a sore loser. It's not what you want to hear in those moments.

It might just be a game, but the emotions you feel, both when you're winning or losing, are real. And they are valid, especially in a game that's all about stabbing your team in the back.

So how do we protect our audience from that sting of betrayal?

Our solution so far: Make it BIG, make it RIDICULOUS and make it EVIL.

We're honing in on a story set in a capitalist corporation, however, this corporation is run by Necromancers. The audience are hired cultists, so it's their job to be evil. Everybody expects it. Everybody gets licence to show their dark side.

The more absurd and removed from reality we can make it, the easier it will be to separate in game emotions from real life. That at least is the theory.
